A RUNDOWN OF THE 2018/2019 RELEASES:

Lost Tribe Sound's new subscription series, titled, We Stayed The Path That Fell To Shadow will run from the Fall of 2018 to the Summer of 2019. The 8 album series kicks off with a charity compilation which shares the same name as the series. The compilation is comprised of eleven exclusive songs from a variety of artists both new and old to the label, including collaborations by From the Mouth of the Sun & Seabuckthorn, Manyfingers & William Ryan Fritch, Kiln & Mute Forest, kj & The Green Kingdom, William Ryan Fritch & Alder & Ash, along with exclusive solo endeavors from The Phonometrician, Luton, Spheruleus, Gavin Miller and William Ryan Fritch.

The compilation introduces three artists new to the LTS roster, all of which will have full-length albums included in the series. Mexico-based multi-instrumentalist and sound preservationist, The Phonometrician is set to release his stunning debut, with equally gorgeous artwork from our favorite visual artist, João Ruas.  Mastered for vinyl, CD and digital by James Plotkin who ended up mastering three of the LTS album’s this year.

Gavin Miller, one half of the duo Worriedaboutsatan, comes out of no where with the most sublime, slow-motion folk drone we've heard in a while. Miller's upcoming double album Meander Scars features multi-instrumentalist Aaron Martin on the first half of the album.

Spheruleus, the project of UK's Harry Towell, who also runs the sublime ambient experimental label White Label Records graces us with a very personal album, diving headlong into his well-loved beat laden side of his many musical personalities.

Plus, we are thrilled to be working with long time idols, the Danish trio, Skyphone. We've been long time fans of their music, since their early days of releasing with Rune Grammofon. The series will bring two Skyphone releases, one brand new one, and one a reissue of their incredible self-released album Hildur, which sadly never saw a physical release. Both Skyphone albums are mastered for vinyl and digital by Emil Thomsen (Nils Frahm - Felt, Tim Linghaus - Vhoir) and both albums feature the intriguing collage art of Martin Sønderlev Christensen.

And last but not least, William Ryan Fritch returns with his first release in over a year, and that's a pretty big chunk of time without a Fritch album, if you've followed his incredible output over the years. The long awaited Music for Film Vol. II, also titled Deceptive Cadence will be released this Winter. Clocking in at a whopping 1 hour and 16 minutes, which may sound insane, but not a second of this well-curated collection feels dull or unnecessary to the story it tells. In addition, Music for Film Vol. I has been reworked and given some proper love and care, and Vol. I will be available physically for the first time ever alongside Vol. II, housed in a lush 2CD A5 size hard cover book with 8 full color pages of dusted photography from Joe Borreson (aka Dust Cloud Design).

A great deal of effort was made to have the artwork hold up to the beauty of the music this year. Collage as an art form became a major theme for us with this series. We also pushed ourselves to design with a bit more color in mind. In a period where words seem cheaper than ever, we tried our best to step out of the way and let the music do the talking. The music runs the gambit of styles we’ve become known for, our rustic otherworldly mark is all over this collection. We hope you’ll agree, music this gorgeous needs little diatribe to realize its worth and timeless appeal. Enjoy and thanks for all the support!

FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

• When can I expect my items to arrive? All subscriber options will receive a Bandcamp download code (choice of 24 Bit WAV, FLAC, 320 MP3, etc.) for the full songs included on this preview set for We Stayed The Path That Fell To Shadow - Subscription Series It will be emailed to you along with coupons and other perks listed for the option you purchase. All physical items will be shipped to you in one big, well-packed box upon the release date of the final album in the series (depending on which Bundle you select), which will be the new Spheruleus album if you select the Vinyl Bundle, or The Phonometrician album if you've selected the CD Bundle. All subscribers will be sent a digital download code for each album on the day it releases over the period of the series, running from now until the Summer of 2019.

• Will my items arrive in good condition? Absolutely! We want your albums to arrive in excellent condition. The bundled CDs will arrive in a sturdy box. With the shipping option here, everything will arrive in vinyl and/or CD format (depending on the option selected) secured between two oversized cardboard inserts (stiffners) then given extra padded corner protection. This will then be placed in an outer box that will allow a layer of tightly packed of biodegradable peanuts to surround these collectors items. We have gone to great lengths to make sure the shipping materials are of the highest quality. So rest assured even if you are overseas or in Canada, these will arrive in amazing shape!

•What is the basic difference between each Bundle option?

VINYL & CD BUNDLE - 25% off the entire year. This is for the fan who doesn't want to miss a thing, basically you'll receive every perk we have, plus you'll get a physical copy of each vinyl and CD in the series. In total you get 4 Vinyl and 4 CDs with the VINYL & CD BUNDLE.

VINYL BUNDLE - Pretty self explanatory, fans of purely vinyl this is your option. You'll receive 20% off with this option. We will send the 4 major vinyl releases your way. Only downside, is this option excludes the CD only releases, William Ryan Fritch’s - Music for Film Vol I & II, Gavin Miller’s Meander Scars and the various artists compilation We Stayed the Path That Fell To Shadow. All are amazing albums so you may be bummed if you miss out, so maybe the VINYL & CD BUNDLE is your ticket. In total you get 4 Vinyl with the VINYL BUNDLE.

CD BUNDLE - Again, pretty straight forward, fans of the purely CD format this is your option. You'll receive 20% off if you go with this option. We will send you 4 of the major releases on CD, two of which are double CD albums, all housed in highly limited hard cover CD books. However this option excludes 3 releases from the series, which are the two vinyl-only Skyphone albums and the new vinyl from Spheruleus. So if this saddens you, maybe the VINYL & CD BUNDLE is the way to go.

DIGITAL BUNDLE -  You'll receive 20% off if you go with this option. We will send you the 7 major digital full-length releases planned for the year as they come out, plus all the subscriber perks. Only thing that is excluded with this bundle is William Ryan Fritch’s Music For Film Vol. I, which can be purchased separately HERE. The brand new Music for Film Vol. II will be included in this digital bundle.

• I subscribed over 24 hours ago and haven’t received an email from Lost Tribe Sound with my initial digital album downloads or subscriber perks, where is it? An email with subscriber perks will arrive from info(at)losttribesound(dot)com with 24 hours of subscribing. If you did not receive this email, please be sure to check your junk or spam email folder. Also, if you would please make sure info(at)losttribesound(dot)com is set up as preferred sender in your email settings, so future subscriber only emails do not end up in your junk folder.

• Last year’s series had options to ship each release as it came out, or to ship them in two bundles (bi-annually) during the course of the series. Is that option still available? We’ve decided those options were not as popular and most subscribers chose to have everything shipped in one big bundle at the end of the series, opting to receive a digital version of each album as it came out until the physical editions arrived all together at the very end of the series. We can make arrangements to have each release ship to you as they come out, or once in the middle of the series and once at the end if you like. But please contact us for the pricing on this, as the shipping and handling charges will increase if you want to do this. Get in touch HERE.

•I subscribed to the Prelude to the Decline Series last year as was suppose to receive a digital copy of The Prelude Subscriber Album and William Ryan Fritch’s Music For Film Vol. II. I see they are part of this series now, will I still receive a copy of those albums? Yes, we will be sending out a digital download of The Prelude Subscriber Album (now titled, We Stayed The Path That Fell To Shadow) and William Ryan Fritch - Music For Film Vol. II to all Prelude series subscribers upon their individual release dates. However, if you wish to own a physical copy of the album, you will have to subscibe to this new series, or purchase those albums on CD as they are released.

• Once I subscribe to the series, will I be able to cancel my subscription? Unfortunately once you subscribe you will not be able to cancel your subscription, since we will begin delivering Subscriber perks and some albums to you digitally the same day.

• I make films, commercials, and/or television programs, is it possible to license your music for one of these projects? Yes, we license our music to a wide variety of commercial projects worldwide. Our clients include, GoPro, PBS, CBS, documentary/independent filmmakers and more. We have a very large catalog of pre-existing music for licensing that includes well-known composers and song-writers from around the world. • I have already purchased one or more of the albums from this series from another store before I knew about the Subscription Series.  I don't want duplicate albums, can I still subscribe to the series at a discounted rate, minus the albums I already have?  The answer is yes!  We don't want fans to miss out on this massive collection of albums offered here.  Send us a quick email using our site contact form HERE.  Let us know which album/s you already have and we'd be happy to work out a fair price for you to join the rest of the Subscription Series.

•You mention that the profits from the various artist compilation We Stayed The Path That Fell To Shadow will be going to environmental and mental health charities. Which charities exactly? Lost Tribe Sound will be dividing the net proceeds earned from the compilations physical and digital sales and dividing it up amongst these charities. Union of Concerned Scientists, Rainforest Alliance, Earth Justice, Earth Island Institute, Music Minds Matter, Musicares and a small group of hand-selected eco-friendly and agricultural causes through Kiva. We will work to provide updates on our charitable donations as time goes on.

The mental health charities we’ve chosen to focus on directly help artists and musicians with mental health related matters. We’ve had many first hand experiences with artists and musicians struggling with a variety of issues surrounding their mental health, hopefully the sales of this various artists compilation will allow us give a decent amount of funding to organizations that have a direct impact on those struggling to find their place in this world.
